Hi! Welcome to my website!

My teaching studio is centrally located in the Willoughby area of Langley, but my students come from areas such as: Aldergrove, Brookswood, Clayton, Murrayville, Surrey, Cloverdale, Walnut Grove, Willoughby, Langley, South Surrey, White Rock and Vancouver. All lessons take place in the comfort of our in-home studio.

I thought it might help if you knew a little bit about me.

Qualifications:

I have been playing guitar since 1968 and trained for over 17 years in all disciplines of music. I studied music theory through Trinity College of Music from London England. Lessons in electric and acoustic guitar, electric and upright bass and mandolin.

I have been playing guitar and bass guitar professionally since 1974. Teaching music since 1992 with students ranging in age from 8 years to 70 years old. I am well versed in rock, jazz, country, bluegrass and the blues.

I was a member of Canada's Number One Party Band - Trooper - for 5 years. I have extensive recording experience and have a gold record and a platinum record for recordings I have been a part of. I have worked at Long & McQuade Music since 1996 and can help you in choosing the right instrument for you.

Lessons:

Success is the Goal. We assess each student for their strengths!

No two students are the same, so why should they study the same lesson plan? I tailor each lesson plan to the student's ability and interests. Lessons can follow a structured approach similar to the Royal Conservatory of Music or Berkeley School of Music or just an easy method. You can also take on a more "free" form style based on the student's interests like: chord charts, chording, finger picking, reading, writing, studio techniques or just play a song around the campfire!

Having experience with school bass programs, bass lessons are available for students who don't get enough one-on-one time with their music teacher at school. This will supplement whatever you are being taught.

We help nurture and form your practice regiment and techniquesthe more you do, the better you will perform.
